Dynamo Works Limited specialises in cleaning pre-war AMAL carburettors and suitable small mechanical parts. Our Southall workshop accepts postal cleaning requests from across the UK, with the work and price agreed before you send your parts.
A cleaning service for your restoration
A carburettor body, jets or a collection of dismantled components can each need a different approach. Tell us the AMAL model or identifying marks, the approximate age and what you want cleaned. If you cannot identify the model, describe what you have and ask us before posting.
We use a CREWORKS 15 litre ultrasonic cleaner and branded Sealey cleaning fluid. Ultrasonic cleaning helps loosen contamination in intricate components. Suitability depends on the material, finish and condition, so acceptance follows a review of your request.
Old parts need an honest assessment
Let us know about seized fittings, damaged threads, cracks, corrosion, previous repairs and fragile or plated finishes. Cleaning can reveal damage that was hidden by deposits. It cannot replace missing metal, correct wear or make a damaged carburettor serviceable.
We do not promise an as-new finish or a running result. We do not rebuild, tune, function-test or reassemble carburettors. All components are returned unassembled.
Ready-stripped parts or optional stripping
You can send dismantled parts ready for assessment and cleaning, or ask us to quote for stripping. Stripping costs extra and is only undertaken where agreed. Age, corrosion and seized fittings can make dismantling risky even with reasonable care. Tell us about any delicate parts before we quote, and read the service terms and fragile-parts conditions.
What to include in your cleaning request
- The model or markings, approximate age and a description of each component.
- Quantity and outermost length, width and height in millimetres.
- Whether you will send an assembled carburettor or loose parts, and whether you want a stripping quote.
- Known materials, finishes, damage, seized fittings and previous repairs.
Our nominal 15 litre tank is not a guaranteed part-size limit: the basket and working clearance reduce usable space. See our equipment and reference dimensions. We confirm fit before accepting your order.
Quote, clean and return by post
Create an account and submit your parts list. We review it and send a quote with a payment link, including any agreed stripping, return delivery and expected turnaround. Wait for confirmation before posting, drain all fuel and oil, and follow your carrier’s rules.
You pay outward and return postage, packing and any agreed carrier cover, except where the law requires otherwise. Include your order reference and pack parts so delicate fittings are protected. Our postal cleaning guide explains each stage.
